Find Your AI Tool Matches

Three questions, instant shortlist — matched against 2,700+ companies in the directory.

2. Budget preference
3. Extras

Your answers become directory filters — results open on the startups page, ranked by NeuronScore, and the URL is shareable.

How the matcher works

Find Matches is a shortcut through the NeuronFeed directory's filter system. Rather than learning which filters exist on the startups page, you answer three questions: the category you need AI for, whether a free plan or free trial is required, and whether the tool has to be agent-ready or founder-verified. Submitting the form turns those answers into query parameters and opens the full startup list with the filters already applied, sorted by NeuronScore — the directory's 0–100 composite of funding, traction, documentation, and profile completeness. The category dropdown is populated from the live database and lists the 40 categories holding the most companies.

What it does not do is score tools against your specific use case or hand back a single "best" answer. It narrows roughly 2,880 published AI companies down to the subset that clears your hard constraints and leaves the judgement to you. That makes it most useful early in vendor research: a buyer mapping the options in a category, a founder checking who else is building in the same space, or an engineer who needs to know which tools expose an API or MCP server before an evaluation is worth the time. There is no account, and your answers are not stored.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find the right AI tool for my needs?

Start with the category that matches the job you are trying to do, then add the constraints that would actually disqualify a tool — a free plan, or an API and MCP endpoint if you plan to automate it. The matcher turns those answers into directory filters and returns every published startup that fits, ranked by NeuronScore. From there, compare the shortlist on pricing, funding, and agent-readiness rather than trying to pick a single winner up front.

Is the Find Matches tool free?

Yes. It is free to use with no signup, no email capture, and no usage limit. Your answers are only used to build the filter URL for the startups page — they are not stored or sent anywhere.

What does "AI-agent ready" mean in the filters?

It restricts results to tools that expose the surfaces an AI agent needs to drive them: a public API, an MCP (Model Context Protocol) endpoint, webhooks, OAuth, SDKs, and usable developer docs. Each tool is scored 0–100 on those signals, and the filter keeps the ones scoring high enough for an agent to integrate without reverse-engineering. You can browse the same data directly on the agent readiness leaderboard.

How many AI startups does the matcher search?

It searches the whole NeuronFeed directory — roughly 2,880 published AI companies across 90+ countries and 100 categories. The category dropdown shows the 40 largest categories by company count, but choosing "Any category" searches all of them.

Can I share or bookmark my results?

Yes. Your answers become query parameters on the /startups URL, so the results page is a normal shareable link. Bookmark it and it will re-run against current directory data every time you open it.

What does the "verified profiles only" option do?

It limits results to listings a founder or team member has claimed from a domain-matching email address. Verified profiles are editable by their owners and audit-logged, so their pricing, links, and descriptions tend to be more current than unclaimed listings.
